It is SO encouraging to hear the different perspectives! I briefly mentioned process-relational theology/philosophy as something that is making more and more sense to me (especially how it bridges the gulf between science and religion). When my mother died a couple of years ago due to vascular dementia, I struggled to make sense of it. Somehow (Divine intervention?) I was lead to some podcasts on "suffering and meaning" and I immediately connected to the ideas of process theology. One of the fascinating things is how there are process thinker all most all the major religions, including Buddhism! Here is a link that will take you to three episodes interviewing Robert Mesle (the earliest interview starts at the bottom). Keep in mind the the hosts are a bit "chatty" (but humorous), so you might want to skip ahead to the main interview:
http://homebrewedchristianity.com/?s=robert+mesle

Again, I VERY much enjoyed hearing all the voices on issues we humans all share!Jeffhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07867273432211044298noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4798556733393347267.post-73483374648208804912010-05-20T06:54:49.432-07:002010-05-20T06:54:49.432-07:00Just in case the reader is curious, here's the...Just in case the reader is curious, here's the wikipedia article related to depictions of Muhammed - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Depictions_of_MuhammadAmerican Islamic Fellowshiphttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14109449459767411504noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4798556733393347267.post-83153649966670472312010-05-20T06:18:38.263-07:002010-05-20T06:18:38.263-07:00 ▂▃▅▅▅▃▂ ▲◢◤▀◥◣▃ ▍◢◤

Each one of them will have his right hand and left leg amputated publicly," said Judge Sheikh Abdallah al-Haq.
It is not clear where the leg will be cut.
No date was set for the punishment, which will be carried out after the health of the accused is assessed.
Furthermore, Monday was very hot and the court decided that carrying out an amputation in such conditions could lead the accused to bleed to death.20
Amnesty International said the four men had not been given a fair trial.
"We are appealing to al-Shabab not to carry out these cruel, inhuman and degrading punishments," said Tawanda Hondora, a spokesperson for the human rights group.
"These sentences were ordered by a sham al-Shabab court with no due process or guarantees of fairness."
The punishments already carried out in Kismayo have shocked many Somalis, who traditionally practise a more tolerant form of Islam.
The transitional government says that al-Shabab has links to al-Qaeda and has brought hundreds of foreign fighters to Somalia.
President Sheikh Sharif Sheikh Ahmed, a moderate Islamist, has declared a state of emergency and has appealed to Somalia's neighbours to send troops to help fight the hardliners.
Story from BBC NEWS:
http://news.bbc.co.uk/go/pr/fr/-/2/hi/africa/8113429.stm

Published: 2009/06/22 16:46:00 GMTRZAKInoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4798556733393347267.post-69198132370081031462009-06-21T10:56:52.211-07:002009-06-21T10:56:52.211-07:00QURAN 2: 114

Never mind, if it's men or women. I hate the ignorance that exist within the muslim community, yet we wonder why other religions and communities have such a closed minded opinion of islam, due to this behavior. I agree... what type of example are we setting by having an interfaith meeting but badgering women for sitting on some step "that are on the men's side"... absolutely ridiculous. I agree if a man can't deal with the opposite sex, get some help much less be employed by the mosque.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4798556733393347267.post-47972079680865478602009-04-30T21:21:00.000-07:002009-04-30T21:21:00.000-07:00I have been a member of the same religion since I ...I have been a member of the same religion since I was a child. I became a Muslim at that Masjid 13 years ago, and the male/female segregation dictator/dictatorship was one of the reasons why I stopped going. During the time of the Prophet, men & women WEREN'T segregated at the Masjids, and certainly NOT to the horrific extent that it exists today. And where is this in Quran?

Grow up, people - if you are a man or a woman and cannot deal with being around another member of the human race because they are of a different gender, then you need serious psychiatric help and need to get yourself checked in...

And let's not talk about the marriage program there - I thought I was experiencing a horror movie and was quite traumatized by the experience. Your experience there proved that it was not just 'me.'

Wishing you and interfaith dailogue all the best.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4798556733393347267.post-34110647336546713222008-07-11T17:12:00.000-07:002008-07-11T17:12:00.000-07:00Please consider adding Women's Resource Center to ...Please consider adding Women's Resource Center to End Domestic Violence (www.wrcdv.org, crisis line: 404-688-9436) to your resource guide.
